A Classic Horror Story, a new Netflix Italian horror film, is based on the classic horror concept of strangers being abandoned in the middle of nowhere with serial killers prowling nearby. However, towards the end, viewers will understand it’s a set-up for something considerably more evil, and it may remind you of American Horror Story and 1BR. After the camper they were carpooling in crashes, five strangers are trapped in the woods with no mobile coverage. The only thing nearby is an abandoned home with creepy photographs of individuals wearing animal masks and taxidermied deer heads covering the walls. The sight reminded Fabrizio, the driver, of the Osso, Mastross tale.
The suggestion is that the tale is true, which is proven (at least at first) when one of the protagonists, Mark, is kidnapped and murdered by three masked people. The others hide in the attic of the abandoned house to avoid being murdered. Chiara, a teenage prisoner who had her tongue cut off, is discovered there. They try to flee before they’re discovered, but instead find themselves going in circles in the woods. Because they can’t discover a way out, the gang decides to spend the night at the residence. However, when one of the protagonists, Elisa, wakes up, she discovers that two of her friends, Sofia and Riccardo, have been publically sacrificed… and that Fabrizio is to blame. IMDB
